EQUITY
Our goals include facilitating a smooth transition into university, providing the foundation for a successful university experience, helping students feel comfortable in academic, social, and environmental contexts, building a strong, inclusive, equitable, and accessible community that fosters Con-Ed love, and of course, having fun! Meet our Equity Teach!

Hey class of 2030!
My name is Evie Dorval and I am beyond delighted to be your Equity and Sustainability Teach for Concurrent Education Orientation 2026! Here is a little bit about me: I am from Ottawa, Ontario and am the youngest of five kids. I am in the Intermediate/Senior stream in ConEd and am majoring in Global Development Studies alongside minoring in English. I absolutely love to dance, drink coffee, read a good book, and play music with my friends! I am super excited to meet you all and encourage you to come say hi during Orientation or if you ever see me on campus!
My role involves planning and supporting my team throughout various initiatives to make Orientation more accessible, inclusive, and equitable. I want you to know that when it comes to Orientation Week I am here to support YOU. I will be available at every Orientation Event to provide a listening ear, friendly advice, and direction to our amazing resources and clubs on campus! If you are anxious, homesick, elated, scared, or anything in between I am happy to hear about it!
I will be running an Alternative Activity Space that will be located in a quieter area off to the side of every Orientation Event. This space is advertised on our website and Instagram page, but all of your Orientation Leaders will be able to direct and accompany you to the space at all times. In this space you can find low-intensity versions of some of our larger events, crafting materials, mini sports games, board games, and more. Additionally, this space will always hold important health resources like water, snacks, sunscreen, fans, and afterbite. This space is where you will find me during events!
My goal is for all of you to feel welcome here in ConEd and Queen’s University, so my team and I have meticulously worked to create an inclusive environment! With that in mind, I am a firm believer that fostering equity requires constant attention, reassessment, and action to ensure the needs of everyone are being adequately met. If at any point you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at equityteach@cesa.queensu.ca. I would love to chat and answer any questions!
Congratulations on taking this big step. I am so excited to meet you all!
