Favourite thing about ConEd?: My favourite thing about con-ed has to be con-Ed Love!!! Every single member of our incredible faculty is so supportive, friendly, and kind. As a small, tight-knit faculty, you really get the chance to meet all kinds of amazing people

Favourite first year class?: My favourite first year class has to be CHEM 112. The content was not too difficult, Amanda Bongers is an incredible prof, and the labs were super interesting!

Favourite thing about Teach exec?: Every single member of teach exec is so supportive, friendly, and welcoming. They have worked so hard to make o-week an amazing experience and are beyond excited to get to know each and everyone of the incoming students. They are funny, DrAmATiC, and die-hard coneddies... kachow ;)

Personal Spotlight: Hi everyone!!!! My name is Ben and I am so so so so so excited to meet you all in September!!!! I am in I.S. and plan on majoring in biology with teachables in biology and chemistry. I LOVE a good netflix binge (talk to me about greys, stranger things, or b99), going to the movies, cooking, reading a good book, and travelling (Japan, France, Italy, and Hawaii are the favourite places I’ve been!!). In second year I plan on getting more involved in the queens community (joining some clubs and CESA!!) and hanging out with all you froshies of course :) I am super approachable, friendly, and a STRONG ADVOCATE of west campus, so don’t be scared to come chat if you spot me on campus (or need a walk back to west)!

Words of wisdom: My biggest piece of advice for incoming students would be to venture out of your comfort zone whenever possible and to try as many new things as you can!!! (only if you’re comfortable) First year is an awesome time to explore queens/kingston, meet new people, and make all kinds of incredible memories. The people you meet in first year, whether they be people in your faculty, on your floor, or in your classes, will become some of your favourite people ever. It may seem scary at first, but first year will be amazing :)

Nickname(s): Bai, Bails

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Hometown: Kitchener

Favourite thing about ConEd?: My favourite thing about con-ed is how tight knit, warm, and welcoming everyone is. Being a con-eddie automatically makes you part of the best faculty but also gives you the friendliest, open, and sweet as peaches family!

Favourite first year class?: Film 110! - If you took Com-tech in high school, or just love analyzing films, chances are this is the course for you!

Favourite thing about Teach exec?: My favourite thing about Teach Exec is their energy! Each one of them is so sweet, kind, and welcoming, but their energy really lets you know you’re about to have a great time!

Personal Spotlight: Hey y’all, my name is Bailee, and I can’t wait to be your Teach! I am a Fine Arts major, and am in the P.J stream. However, after I graduate I want to do a couple additional qualifications to get my I.S and a second teachable in Phys-ed! I am on the Queen’s Artistic Swimming team, was a competitive swimmer, and am a lifeguard and swim instructor! Although the water is my habitat, I also love to ski, hangout with friends, and listen to music (anything indie/alt-rock, and you’ve got me hooked). I am a bubbly ball of energy, who loves a good conversation, but also loves to listen as well. I really am looking forward to sharing in all the fun this O-week has to bring and can’t wait to meet all of you!

Words of wisdom: Step out of your comfort zone and push yourself. No one is going to do it for you, all it takes is 30 seconds of courage, to make a lifetime of memories. Say hi to someone new, smile at that person across from you, and shake and shimmy like no one's watching!

Mackenzie Nixon

Name: Mackenzie Nixon

Nickname(s): Kenzie

Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Hometown: Long Sault, ON:)

Favourite thing about ConEd?: My favourite thing about ConEd is how supportive everyone is. Whether it's with school or personal stuff I know that I can always count on my fellow Con Eddies to help out.

Favourite first year class?: Biol 103 - there is so many interesting tid bits in this class. It has really sparked my interested in biology regardless of how tricky the tests may be.

Favourite thing about Teach exec?: Each member of Teach exec are all sweet hearts. They are all super sweet and hilarious. Their passion of trying to make O week a success is invigorating. They are great representatives of our con ed family.

Personal Spotlight: Hey guys! I am super psyched to be a Teach. I am hoping to major in Biochemistry (but who knows because I am so indecisive). So, I'll have teachables in Biology and Chemistry. I love to read, nap and travel. I am lowkey addicted to caffeine, so if I'm your Teach, I'd always love a coffee (hint hint). My favourite fruit is grapes and I really like the colour  yellow. I really hope that I can make your transition into Queens as easy and as fun as possible. Never hesitate to come ask me questions or what not cause I'm super chatty.

Words of wisdom: Rock on
