Favourite thing about ConEd?: My absolute favourite thing about Con-Ed has to be the Con-Ed Love we share! This faculty has created the most welcoming community with so many incredible people that makes it feel like a family! Con-Ed is such a diverse group where everyone brings something special to anything that we do together, which makes the experiences we have so memorable!
Favourite first-year class?: I absolutely love MUSC114 - “Teaching Music to Elementary Children”! It is so fun to learn about music in the context of teaching elementary school students, and be able to apply both music and education skills to projects! Learning the ukulele is also super exciting, and it’s such a fun class with a great community of learners!
Favourite thing about Teach Exec?: Teach Exec is the embodiment of Con-Ed Love and spirit! Every single member of this team is incredibly supportive and super friendly which has created the best, most welcoming environment for all the Teaches and incoming students. They have provided so many amazing leadership opportunities to be involved in, and have worked so hard to create the most exciting o-week, no matter the circumstances. They are not only a "GrouNDbrEAKinG-ly" hilarious group of Con-Eddies, but are adaptable to any situation thrown their way which showcases how much they care about making this the best o-week ever!
Personal Spotlight: Hi everyone! My name is Megan and I am so excited to be a Teach for Con-Ed Orientation 2021! I am in P/J and have a projected medial or major/minor in psychology and minor music. I love to sing, dance, travel, perform in musical theatre, roller-skate, walk my dog, and I am always up for an exciting adventure! You’ll hear me doing Con-Ed cheers the loudest, so I’m super excited to share those with you, they are so fun! I am super friendly, bubbly, and open to conversations about anything and everything! I am always here if you need and I can’t wait to meet you all! We are going to have the best time!
Words of wisdom: My best piece of advice for incoming students is to be yourself and chase as many opportunities that you can! First year is an amazing place to make friends that will last a lifetime and make the most exciting memories. It is important to put yourself out there, because the best experiences can come from taking that big step! Queen’s has so many incredible things to do around campus and to get involved in, which can lead to so many great outcomes! Explore all the possibilities that Queen’s has to offer and do it with a smile on your face until you find your passion! First year is going to be amazing!

Favourite thing about ConEd?: My favourite thing about Con-Ed is the community! It is so inspiring to be surrounded by people who are passionate about education. Both students and teachers are very approachable, and are more than happy to answer any questions that you may have, or if you just want to reach out! Can you feel the Con-Ed love? <3
Favourite first-year class?: My favourite first year class is DRAM100! It gives you a new perspective to look at theatre, and the productions are extremely through-provoking. Grahame Renyk is such an amazing prof! For reference, we often begin our Zoom calls with some absolute bangers from ABBA, Cher, and many more. 'Nuff said.
Favourite thing about Teach Exec?: Everyone in Teach Exec is incredibly supportive, uplifting and energetic! Their energy is contagious, and they are committed to putting together the best possible O-Week, whether it be online or in-person.
Personal Spotlight: Hi everyone! My name is Aidan, and I'm SO excited to be a part of this year's team! I'm planning to teach in PJ, with a major/minor in drama and health (haven't decided the order just yet). I am a HUGE sports fan, and will play or watch any sport that's on TV (basketball is my go-to - LETS GO RAPTORS!). I also figure skate competitively (I've been skating for about 9 years), and hope to continue to do so on the queens varsity figure skating team! Some of my other hobbies include working out, reading the occasional book, watching sitcoms on netflix (the office, schitt's creek to name a few), and hanging with the BOOOOOYS. I'm super approachable and outgoing, so don't be afraid to reach out! I can't wait to meet the incoming class of 2025!
Words of wisdom: Be sure to take a step back and take a deep breath when things get difficult. The transition from high school to university can be pretty intimating, but don't let that stop you! Try your best to stay on top of your schoolwork, but also make sure to take some time to do the things that YOU want to do. That might be reaching out to new people, joining school clubs, the possibilities are endless! First year goes by in a flash, so be sure to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way!
